Grass Roots Weather is on call to help with time and weather sensitive decisions.

When Hurricane Sandy threatened the mid Atlantic and northeast in October 2012, Grass Roots Weather worked around the clock to keep clients updated.

In the days prior to Sandy’s landfall, forecasts were all over the map. Would the storm hit New York, New Jersey, Maryland, or would it miss land altogether and go out to sea? Contradicting and changing forecasts on major news outlets, most of which relied on undependable “point and click” computer models, caused confusion in terms of what preparations golf courses would take to prepare for the storm's landfall.

Grass Roots Weather identified and forecasted the threat eight days prior to its landfall. All clients in the path of the storm were notified with more than a week’s notice. That forecast allowed superintendents and club managers to implement preparations well ahead of time, and resulted in enhanced protection of both their golf courses and personal property.
